At Memorial Veterinary Clinic, we consistently strive to provide your pets with new and innovative care at every turn. We are so excited to announce that we have a brand new cold laser therapy machine!
At Memorial Veterinary Clinic, we use Companion Therapy Laser, the #1 laser therapy unit in the veterinary market, as a pain management tool for our patients. This FDA-approved modality uses light to stimulate cell regeneration and increase blood circulation. It provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free and drug-free treatment that is used as an adjunct to your pet’s prescribed treatment plan. The procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 20 minutes, depending on the severity of the tissue damage, and no sedation or shaving of the affected area is necessary. It is commonly used after surgery and for general pain relief for pets of all ages and health conditions.
How Does It Work?
Your pet, you, and the nurse delivering the treatment will be provided eye protection during the treatment.
**Make sure you snap a picture of your pet in their “doggles”!**
A hand piece is then passed over your pet’s injury. Your pet will the feel a gentle, soothing warmth as their pain is erased. Treatments take a matter of minutes and most pet’s become so relaxed that they even fall asleep.
What Conditions Does Pet Laser Therapy Treat?
Laser therapy helps to reduce inflammation, decrease pain, increase mobility, and stimulate faster healing in injured cells. It assists in stimulating collagen synthesis (which enhances wound healing), promotes tendon, cartilage, nerve, and bone healing, and reduces swelling from injury or infection.
